Core Postural Alignment (CPA) is a simple yet powerful technique to help the body restore its normal position in relation to the body’s centre of gravity.
Prior to each CPA session, measurements are taken at the plumb line to establish the degree of postural distortion.
A contact point on the pelvis and near to the centre of gravity is held while a unique muscle relaxation technique is used on the main postural muscles.

But, wow along with the treatment, the agony I had been in for 5 years went. I have just bought a second one after 6 years…it’s fully adjustable by pulling out foam strips and how you adjust the positioning of it. It is the best £65 I have ever spent. Highly Recommend. Now my husband has one and it helps with his snoring and sleep apnea.

Suddenly, out of the blue, early in August 2009 I suffered severe back pain which continued down my right leg. A visit to the GP confirmed that it was sciatica. Due to the severity of the pain he said that it was unlikely that I could stand any form of treatment such as physiotherapy or osteopathy and diagnosed pain killers and rest. I was horrified when he told me that it could be months before I was free of pain. At the time I could hardly move and couldn’t get comfortable either sitting in the chair or lying down. I went for my first treatment with her a few months ago and really cannot believe the difference her style of chiropractic treatments has made to my life.
I fractured my coccyx and pelvis in 1998 which was devastating on so many levels. I have received acupuncture and chiropractic treatments since that time as after 6 months after the injury the NHS could do no more to help me.
These treatments literally got me back on my feet but since 2000 there has been little improvement in my ability to sit on soft chairs without the aid of a sturdy spinal support device – as typically after 5 minutes I would have neck pain and my coccyx and lower back would spasm which was painful and impacted on my mobility too.
After a thorough consultation which brought up lots of past issues emotionally that I’d thought were resolved, Alaine examined me and then stared the very gentle McTimoney Chiropractic session. It was a very pleasant surprise that it was clearly working not just on a physical level but also on my emotional state and at a profoundly deep and energetic level too. Previous chiropractic treatments have been the typical back cracking types which were maintaining my back health but not improving it. I have had 4 treatments from her since then on a monthly basis and have gone from strength to strength
I travelled to Turkey In August without the spinal support and was able to sit on most chairs without any discomfort. Then in December we flew out to Oman to visit our son and daughter in law. They were absolutely amazed that I didn’t need the spinal support for any of the flights and that I could sit comfortably in any type of chair relaxed and pain free.

In late 2010 I developed severe pain in my back and made several enquiries with colleagues about a possible remedy, all of which recommended King Street Chiropractic.
